The other day I was receiving a dog to be groomed and the woman was trying to tell me that he was too short last time and the husband blurted out “you scalped him!” 😳 Don’t worry, he wasn’t bald, he was just too short for their liking.

Obviously, that’s not the type of feedback I like to hear but it happens & I try not to get offended. Sometimes I try to do what I think someone wants and it’s not a match. A ‘summer cut’ can mean different things to different people. That’s why I ask a lot of questions and annoy people sometimes.

I kept more length the second time around and they were much happier. And they apologized for the comment even though they didn’t need to. I always appreciate honesty because it’s something I can work with.

Sometimes dogs have a rough time with transitions, like leaving their owner to go to the groomer. They don’t hate the groomer and they don’t necessarily hate being groomed. They may dislike portions of it for sure but I could say the same about going to the dentist. This sweetie is always nervous at drop off but enjoys so much affection and words of praise during and after the groom. She is not fond of her legs being touched but we are working on it.

We are open today! Normally we are closed Monday & Tuesday to give me a break but I have more coming out of the garden lately & I was in the mood to set everything up. I’m going out to check tomatoes and cucumbers so those will probably get added too. Also, the garlic looks like it’s done curing so that will be out soon too. 🧄
