Going on vacation?
Turning your AC completely off while you’re on vacation can cost you more than you save.
In a hot, humid climate like Kansas, shutting it off can lead to fast humidity buildup, mold risk, and damage to wood, paint, and finishes in just a few days.
A better move: set your thermostat to 80°F while you’re gone. You’ll save energy without risking your home.
Short trips: off is okay.
3+ days: keep it set, don’t shut it down.
