To me, every detail matters.

From the full-height marble-look tile and illuminated niche to the frameless glass and freestanding tub, this bathroom was designed to feel like a luxury retreat without ever leaving home.

Craftsmanship. Function. Timeless design.

Here is some behind the build progress on my current bathroom project.

Craftsmanship is in the details—and this one doesn’t miss.

Custom quartz knee wall with a seamless mitered waterfall edge, perfectly aligned veining, and a clean transition into large-format tile. A matching quartz one piece shower bench built to incorporate a recessed niche as well as a floating corner shaving shelf with custom hidden hardware for a seamless install. No shortcuts, no filler pieces—just precision from start to finish.

These are the details you don’t always notice at first… but they’re exactly what set a high-end build apart from the rest.

Built to look sharp. Built to last.

I’m calling this one “Classically Modern.”

This was the most challenging project I’ve done yet. This was a complete tear out, down to studs and the original brick walls. Lots of surprises from a floor 1” out of level to plumbing in the way. There were so many small details that had to be thought through and executed perfectly to bring this end result.

This client had a vision and an eye for design. They picked some amazing purist fixtures and handmade subway tiles. tongue & groove boards on the walls and minimal trim around the window and door.

I used some 2” mud-in flush mounted lights and flush mounted fan and hvac vent.

Such an amazing result and some of the best work I’ve ever produced thus far. Now I get to start their downstairs bath tomorrow!

Can’t stop STAIRing at this completed project!

I took this one back from the 90’s golden oak era and into a beautiful modern craftsman statement of this entry way. This was done in white oak wood with sleek square iron balusters

Also added some floating shelves to the under stair closet for some very functional storage!

It’s been a busy year thus far!

Here’s the bathroom project I completed first week of January that kick started the year off. Everything you see if new and fresh.

The shower is probably my favorite part, with the very unique accent tile with the matching niche.

Unique situation on this bathroom remodel…

This is the only bathroom with a shower so I hustled to get the demo done, reworking some electrical, redo the plumbing, get the tub installed and the waterproof backer board installed.

Today I got the shower all waterproofed and temporary installed the shower valve and faucet.

Believe it or not, tile and grout are NOT waterproof! It’s actually what’s behind them that creates the waterproof barrier. You could use this shower as is for decades and it wouldn’t hurt a thing. Tile just makes it look pretty.

My client was only without the shower for 4 days!

Same home, new look. When I’m not working to make my clients’ dreams come true, I’m working on redoing my own house, turning it into a home.

My wife and I bought our house 4 years ago. Like many pre-existing homes, it was mostly builder-grade, with some DIY’s done by the former owner. The day after we closed, we had a dumpster delivered and got to work. We lived on sub-flooring for 2 months, renovating in the pockets of our time while working our Finance jobs from home. Not long after that, Modern Oak Carpentry was born!

I’m currently scheduling estimates for staircase renovations, moulding/paneling, fireplace renovations, built-ins and other projects for the New Year. Reach out to discuss the projects you have in mind for 2025 and let’s get you on the schedule!
