Masonry is a skilled trade in need of its next generation.

Experienced masons are retiring faster than new apprentices are entering the field, creating a growing labor shortage across the industry.

That shortage comes at a time when skilled masonry work is still very much needed. Homes, businesses, schools and community spaces still rely on trained professionals to build, repair and maintain the structures around us.

The future of masonry depends on passing down the knowledge and hands-on skills that make this work possible.

Felix has been with WaveCrest since 2007. He started out doing labor work and has continued learning and growing with our team.

Today, he works as a forklift operator and brings nearly two decades of experience with him. As Felix puts it, he makes friends with everybody.

That kind of attitude goes a long way on a crew.
