I think I've seen bigger.

🔸"This is the largest fossilized human turd ever found. It belonged to a sick Viking in the 9th Century AD, and has been valued at $39,000".

The large, “precious” P**p, officially known as the Lloyds Bank Coprolite,
the word “Coprolite” simply meaning fossilized dung. This 1200 year old log that is thought to be the largest recorded in human history.

At 8 inches long and 2 inches wide, specimen was discovered, in York northwest England in 1972 by construction workers during the building of a Lloyds TSB branch, in an area once ruled by Norse warriors. It takes its name from institution Lloyds Bank.

The huge poo had another red-letter moment in 1991 when dung scientist Dr. Andrew Jones appraised the piece in the name of insurance. “This is the most exciting piece of excrement I’ve ever seen,” he told the Wall Street Journal at the time. “In its own way, it’s as irreplaceable as the Crown Jewels.”

Paleoscatologists have been able to discern much from the girthy deposit, including that its producer ate mostly meat and bread was likely a Viking, lived in approximately the 9th Century AD, and had a gut full of parasites. Indeed, the manure was found to be infested with Whipworm and Maw-worm eggs, suggesting the Viking often had an upset stomach and other gastrointestinal problems.

Today, the log resides in a glass box at the Jorvik Viking Centre, York, England; where, in 2003, visitors dropped it, breaking it into three pieces. It has since been repaired.

The Centre is proud to call itself the turd’s final resting place, even hosting a virtual workshop in February called “Poo Day!” in which fans learned about the dung’s significance.

The Department of Energy has proposed new efficiency rules for water heaters.

They claim that if these rules are implemented, they will not only help 'save the planet' but also save consumers untold amounts of money.

Sounds great, right? Right?

People whose electric water heaters are inside the home, under the home, or in the attic are often working with space constraints and would be detrimentally impacted by the proposed rules. I can't think of any mobile home I've ever seen that had room for a heat pump water heater. Not to mention condos or apartments. What a nightmare. But that's what the DOE wants to force on anyone with electric when it's time to replace it.

As for those with gas water heaters, you will still be able to obtain a tank style heater but it will be larger due to proposed efficiency requirements. If you have a tankless and it ever needs to be replaced, you will have to upgrade to a condensing tankless. More expensive, of course.

It would make sense for new builds, or even remodels where walls are being moved around or where the existing water heater is already located in a space that would easily accommodate the new standards. I would be in favor of that. But to force people to overhaul their existing homes where they sometimes don't have room to spare is nonsensical. For many people who cannot afford to adapt their homes to meet these new requirements, it will mean foregoing a water heater and resorting to heating water on a stove. Because 'efficiency.'

Please contact your representatives and ask them to tell the DOE to shove their proposed rules up their rusty old propaganda tanks.
