🔥 Have No Money?Thinking About a New Career, CDL School, Adding Skills to your resume?
Here’s How the Funding Process REALLY Works! 🔥
I’ve been going through the full process myself, so here’s the real step-by-step breakdown for anyone who wants help paying for school through WorkOne Workforce and the WIA (Workforce Investment Act) program.
👉 1. It starts with WIA.
WIA is the Workforce Investment Act, and it’s one of the major programs that helps people get funding for career training—CDL, I.T., nursing, and tons of other fields. This is what makes school possible without paying out of pocket.
👉 2. WorkOne Workforce guides you.
You get paired with a Career Navigator, and they walk you through the entire process. They also work with the Department of Workforce Development and local community colleges or training centers to connect you to the right school.
👉 3. They review your career goals and eligibility.
Before they hand out grants, they want to make sure the career is a good fit for you, that the job demand is high, and that the funding is justified. This part can take a little time, but it’s worth it.
👉 4. Assessments and testing.
For me, the first thing I had to complete was the FIT Assessment (Flexible and Innovative Talent).
This test checks how well you adapt, solve problems, and handle new situations. Then, before moving forward, you also take the A.C.T. WorkKeys or similar testing so they know you're ready for training.
👉 5. Once you pass all that… the funding is on the table.
WorkOne can cover tuition, fees, materials, and sometimes even help with supportive services. It’s basically a scholarship or grant you don’t have to pay back.

💥 If you're trying to level up your skills, switch careers, or get into CDL training, this path is 100% worth it. It’s a process, but the support is real and the opportunities are huge.
If anyone needs help understanding it, drop a comment. I’ve been in it firsthand.
