Many Thanks to GPMG and the grants received to keep the Homeless Veterans Memorial Garden at 777 N Meridian St. looking so good (photo 1). We'd discussed filling in gaps from dead and damaged plants with some extra Fall mums from the other parks. Funny thing I saw the same in Holland MI a few weeks later (photo 2) It looks great!

Carnivorous Plants!!

Everyone has seen a Venus Fly Trap but you may not know they are native to the US!

Last week at our monthly meeting, we learned all about carnivorous plants, including some native here to Indiana, from Rachel Walker, Ph.D.

The GPMGA's April meeting is a joint meeting with Marion County Master Gardeners on Thursday, April 16, at Northminster Presbyterian Church.

Come and make new friends and reconnect with old ones. We will have a very short business meeting to leave plenty of time to socialize. Be prepared to play a fun game to “break the ice” at the beginning of the meeting.

We will hear all about hydrangeas from John Chapin of Tree Frog Gardens in his presentation De-Mystifying Hydrangeas. Chapin will present a slideshow detailing how to select, plant and care for hydrangeas. Chapin also will discuss the best pruning practices to ensure the best blooms, how and when to fertilize your plant, and tackling tricky plant problems.
