Tomorrow, Wednesday, April 13th, is a Severe Weather Alert Day.
We're expecting a widespread severe weather event across much of Indiana and Western Ohio. The Storm Prediction Center has Southwestern Indiana in a Moderate Risk for severe storms (red - level 4 out of 5), much of Central and Western Indiana under an Enhanced Risk for severe storms (orange - level 3 out of 5) and the rest of the area under a slight risk (yellow - level 2 out of 5).
Strong and severe thunderstorms will develop tomorrow afternoon and evening and will spread across Indiana and into Western Ohio between 4:00 PM and 11:00 PM. The storms will originally be in the form of clusters, capable of producing damaging winds (possibly in excess of 70 mph) and tornadoes (some could be long lived and strong). As the evening goes on, the storms will congeal into a squall line and will continue to produce a threat for widespread damaging winds across the state and isolated tornadoes.
It is very important to stay weather aware tomorrow and to have a way to get watches and warnings. We will have updates later this evening and all day on Wednesday.
