We recently got to attend VerkadaOne 2026 in Miami, and aside from getting to personally fist bump DJ Khaled, there was a lot to take in.

Verkada announced new hardware, new AI features, new product categories, and new ways to connect physical security data with tools like ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini.

The bigger question for us was not, “What launched?”

It was, “What actually matters for customers?”

A few of our biggest takeaways:

• Verkada Catalyst is one of the more interesting developments we saw, especially for teams already thinking about how AI fits into their operations
• Live investigation and alerting tools are continuing to get more useful in real time
• Some of the new hardware is worth planning for now
• And a few announcements are probably better to watch before jumping in
