Today, on National Nurses Day, we’re celebrating the nurses on our team and the unique perspective they bring to healthcare design.
At Guidon, having healthcare planners with nursing backgrounds strengthens how we Lead Through Listening®. Their firsthand experience brings clarity to how spaces function, from staff workflows to the patient experience.
As Sandra Bradley shares, her background in nursing allows her to serve as a bridge between clinicians and designers, developing a deep understanding of how care environments operate. From coordinating user groups to identifying inefficiencies and opportunities, she helps translate clinical insight into thoughtful design solutions that support both staff performance and patient care. Alongside her, Emily McCuskey brings her perspective as a former clinical informaticist, healthcare equipment planner, and pediatric nurse, helping ensure our work stays rooted in real-world clinical experience.
Together, their nursing backgrounds shape how we approach flexibility in healthcare design. By advocating for adaptable layouts, multi-functional spaces, and infrastructure that can evolve with new technologies and changing care models, they help create environments that remain resilient and relevant as healthcare continues to evolve.
