YAF Indy is a group of people who share a passion for design and the role of architecture in and around the city of Indianapolis. We are recent graduates, emerging professionals, and recently registered architects. YAF Indy hosts monthly events that include networking, job hunting, social events, building tours, round-table discussions, design competitions, and whatever else we find interesting an

d relevant in the architectural scene around Indianapolis. Officially, we’re a committee funded by the American Institute of Architects, Indianapolis chapter. Our agenda and events are planned by the YAF Committee, however we encourage members to make suggestions and get involved in the process. There is no membership fee; events are always free and you don’t have to be an AIA member to attend. The group is tailored for architects and designers ranging in age from recent graduates to architects registered ten years or less, but we don’t card and anyone is welcome. It’s a great way to network with other local architects, find out what people are doing at other firms, and a perfect excuse for getting out of the office and not working late. We want to take a moment to thank everyone who came out last night to the YAF Indy end-of-year December party at Pin’s Mechanical Bowling. We hope everyone had a great time connecting, duckpin bowling, and catching up as we close out the year.

This morning, YAF members Cassidy and Iván delivered the donations from our November Thanksgiving Food Drive to the Perry Township Academy Food Pantry, where they will be distributed to families in need. We would like to thank everyone that donated for helping us support local families during this holiday season.

The Young Architects Forum would like to thank AIA President for visiting Indiana and sharing her insights with our members. Her engaging discussion on AIA’s vision for the future of architecture gave us the opportunity to learn more about initiatives shaping our profession and the tools available to help us succeed.

YAF + ISEA TRIVIA NIGHT 🎉

Trivia Night was a success thank you all for coming out and making it such a fun and competitive evening! A special thank you to and for graciously hosting us on their rooftop patio for such a wonderful evening! Congratulations to the winners, and we hope you enjoyed the friendly competition as much as we did!

Our Young Architects Forum chapter is proud to spotlight four dedicated leaders shaping the future of our profession. From mentorship and media to community engagement, these individuals bring passion, creativity, and purpose to the table.

Princess Davis, NOMA
As Executive Treasurer, Princess brings her passion for creativity, community, and culture to every initiative she touches. Whether she’s immersed in architecture, nature, or motorsports, her mission is to create authentic connections and drive meaningful impact for young professionals in Indiana.

Jarron Tichenor
As the AIAS Liaison, Jarron bridges the gap between emerging professionals and the wider architectural community. With a deep belief in the power of design and its ability to uplift lives, Jarron brings a thoughtful, intentional approach to every endeavor.

D. Alejandra Lagunas
Serving as Mentorship Co-Lead, Alejandra brings her dual background in landscape architecture and architecture to inspire and guide the next generation. Known by her friends as the “Architist,” she channels her creativity into building community and supporting her peers on the path to licensure.

Iván Mota-Sánchez
As the Social Media Director, Iván shares YAF Indy’s mission and energy with the media world. His focus is on amplifying voices, encouraging involvement, and using graphics to create connection within our design community.
