June is off to a running start---it seems as though we are in for a warm and dry Summer. There are whispers about the possibility of a drought, but for now we are taking it one day at a time--we're cutting fresh sod daily, we've got multiple varieties of seed and mulch available--and if it's fertilizer that you're interested in, we can help out with that as well!!

What exquisite weather to find ourselves in after an equally gorgeous three-day weekend!! We are waiting for our first load of fresh cut sod to arrive--estimating around 8:30a. I wonder how many posts we can make about the sunshine, or lack thereof....

The sun looks like it's trying to make an appearance, and the rest of the week is calling for pretty decent weather. This is the last weekend before Memorial Day, it has arrived incredibly quickly this year--come on in for help with all of your lawn maintenance needs and beat the upcoming heat and holidays!!

We are in full swing at both of our Distribution Center's(96th/Michigan or 126th/Cumberland) but sod is moving out of stock very quickly, so please call ahead for questions, quotes, delivery or pick-up information.

Although it's looking like another week full of moisture and cloudy skies, we were able to get into the fields this morning to cut some fresh sod. We are keeping it dry inside the warehouse for now.

It's hard to believe that we're already into May 2016!! We've been at it for two months already---with no signs of slowing down in the near future!! It is going to be a great year and we are so ready to work with you!! Of course, lighting is everything--but here is an up close comparison of our two varieties of sod grass.

On the left, Kentucky Bluegrass and the right, RTF sod.

As you can see, the Kentucky Bluegrass has a thick vein down the center of it's blades, imagine folding the blade right in half.

The RTF has a "flattened" blade, with lots of smaller, thin veins running through it.

They both have a nice and lush green coloring and while RTF is slightly heartier than Bluegrass, both varieties can thrive with the proper maintenance.

Another beautiful start to this last week in April. The sun is shining for now, and even though they're calling for sporadic rainfall all throughout the week, I don't foresee any problems causing a lack of sod, but I would definitely recommend calling ahead to make sure we've got what you need. If we don't have it, we can work on getting it and then we will call when it arrives!!

Happy Friday, folks!!! We are cutting sod this morning--but with the rain we will have a limited supply. Call ahead to reserve sod for pick-up today or tomorrow----our supply will move quickly!!

We're keeping an eye on the forecast, and we will keep the fresh cut sod inside our warehouse so it won't continue to soak up the moisture from the rain. Tomorrow is looking like high-60s and sunshine all day!!
