HVAC MYTHS
When it comes to heating and cooling, you may have heard these ideas from somewhere, but in fact, these are just not true! Here are a few myths....

MYTH #1
"Oversized Equipment Will Heat and Cool Better"

The bigger is not always better! Homes must be sized appropriately with the right sized equipment to adequately heat and cool the home.

MYTH #2
"Cranking the Air Conditioner Way Down Will Cool The House Faster"

This is quite the opposite. In reality, turning the thermostat way down will cause the AC system to run longer and you risk freezing the evaporator coil and overheating the compressor. The air is not going to travel faster when at lower temps to cool down, it will just run longer.

Prepare for Spring Weather & Take Care of Problems Now

We’ve had some pretty wild weather swings these past few weeks, haven’t we? One day it’s freezing, and the next it’s 70 and sunny. Some of you may have already turned on the AC! As spring makes its official debut, it’s a great time to do a few things around the house:

-Turn on your air conditioner for a quick test run and change the filter if you haven’t done so recently.

-Open the windows on a nice day and let some fresh air move through the house.

-Dust off your ceiling fans and switch them to spin counterclockwise for the warmer months.

-Swap out the batteries in smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors so they’re ready to go.

-Check your gutters and downspouts to make sure they’re clear and draining properly after the recent storms.

If your air conditioner is clicking but not starting, blowing warm air, or making a screeching noise—or if your furnace has been cycling on and off too often or struggling to keep the house warm—let us know!
