At Barth Electric, we take pride in building projects that make a difference in our community. Our team is currently working on the new facility for Indianapolis Animal Care Services, where we’re installing lighting, power distribution, and life-safety systems to support a modern space for animal care, treatment, and adoption.
For one member of our crew, the project carries a special personal connection.
Secondary Foreman Jenni Hoefling has spent years helping animals in need throughout Indianapolis. In addition to her work with Barth Electric, she is the co-founder of The Red Dog Rescue, a foster-based rescue that gives dogs coming out of shelters a second chance.
Jenni began fostering dogs when she was still in middle school and continued through high school and college at Purdue University. She later volunteered at Indianapolis Animal Care Services, where she saw firsthand the challenges shelters face when there are more animals than available homes.
Today, The Red Dog Rescue focuses on helping dogs transition from the stressful shelter environment into foster homes where they can receive training, socialization, and care before being matched with the right adoptive family. Many of the dogs they help come directly from shelters like IACS.
“Knowing that the work we’re doing here will directly support the people and animals who rely on this facility every day makes it especially meaningful,” said Job Foreman Ryan English. “Jenni and the crew have done an excellent job staying focused, communicating well, and holding the work to a high standard.”
We’re proud of the craftsmanship our team brings to every project—and even more proud when the work we’re doing helps support something our people care deeply about.
