Well … this is pretty cool 🧡

We’re excited to be featured in the June issue of Architectural Digest as part of their Excellence in Design — Indiana spotlight.

The feature highlights something we’ve believed for a long time: the best projects happen when architects, designers, makers, and builders aren’t working in sequence—they’re working together.

One team. One vision. Start to finish.

Because creating a home should feel exciting—not overwhelming. And great design isn’t just about how a space looks. It’s about how it supports the people who live there, gather there, grow there, and make memories there.

To every client who’s trusted us with their home, thank you. And to the team members, trade partners, and creatives who’ve helped shape our work along the way—we’re grateful.

Here’s to Crafting Spaces. Elevating Lives.

Building homes is what we do. Building community matters just as much.

Last week, Lyndsie Lawrence and Jaclyn Grahl joined Greater Indy Habitat for Humanity’s Women Build as part of the .sweet.hoosier team. Women Build is an event where women volunteers raise all the funds and do all the building — and this year's build will complete four homes, bringing the program's total to 24 homes and 24 families served in just 13 years.

After weeks of fundraising and a day on the build site, they helped support something bigger than a house: stability, opportunity, and a place to call home for local families. We're proud to support team members who put their skills, time, and heart into strengthening our community.

A wall worth stopping for.

A soft powder blue living room — built-ins, walls, and all — that feels warm and considered rather than overwhelming. These homeowners were anything but afraid of color, and this room is proof that commitment to a palette always pays off.

A wall worth stopping for.

Floor-to-ceiling built-ins in a soft powder blue bring this living room to life. The kind of custom detail that works as hard as it looks good — equal parts entertainment center and statement piece.

Some spaces change how you live in your home. This basement is one of them.

What started as an outdated, underused space became a Parisian speakeasy-inspired retreat — complete with a bar made for entertaining and a design that took risks in all the right ways. The kind of project that makes a family wonder how they ever lived without it.

The homeowners call it their “bougie basement” — and honestly, we can’t think of a better description.

The pantry in red.

Bold, unexpected, and completely unforgettable — this is the kind of design decision that turns a functional space into one of the most talked-about rooms in the house. Even the fridge is in on it.

This one’s worth the swipe.

A kitchen transformation that truly has to be seen to be understood. The after is everything — but the before is what makes it mean something.

Before and after — but look closely.

This wood-paneled room just off the kitchen didn’t need much — just a little refinement. Uniform paneling replaced a mix of widths, and a fresh restain brought the whole thing into a more cohesive, current place. The kind of update that honors what was already there and makes it better.

Some renovations change a house. This one changed a home.

A total kitchen reimagination — two-tone cabinetry, a warm stained wood island loaded with drawer storage, and niche shelving flanking the range that adds character without cluttering the space. Built around how a family actually lives.

We love when a project earns a response like this: “They didn’t just treat our house like a job site — they treated it like our home.”

Say hey to Jon!

Jon is coming up on two years with Emergent next month, and in that time he’s become a consistent presence on our job sites. As a Project Superintendent, he’s helping keep the day-to-day moving — coordinating with trades, staying close to the work, and supporting progress in the field.

What makes a superintendent valuable isn’t just what gets built, but how the job feels while it’s getting there. Jon brings a steady, approachable presence that people genuinely enjoy being around. He shows up, communicates, and stays engaged — and that goes a long way on a busy site.

And if you’ve spent even a little time with Jon, you know the real headline: he brings the joy. There’s laughter every day, usually a wild story in the mix, and a reliable stash of candy (and dog treats!). He has a way of making long days feel lighter and teams feel more connected. Bonus: Jon is fluent in Spanish, which adds an extra layer of connection across our teams and partners.

We’re glad to have him as part of the Emergent team 🧡
