Every engineer has a story, and Lizi Child’s is rooted in growth, curiosity, and giving back.

When asked how she hopes to help shape the next generation of engineers, Lizi shared that one day she wants to teach. For now, she is focused on continuing her own education and showing kids that success is not about being the smartest person in the room. It is about asking the questions others may be afraid to ask.
Her perspective is a reminder that engineering is shaped not only by technical skill, but by curiosity, humility, and the courage to keep learning.

Happy Pi Day from KPFF Indianapolis! 🥧

Today, we’re celebrating the constant that helps keep structural engineering moving forward. From early concepts to final design, π plays a small but important role in the calculations and problem-solving behind the work we do every day.

The team also celebrated with a few rounds of Jenga, putting their balance and steady hands to the test.

Here’s to the math behind great engineering!

KPFF led the structural design for the Toyota Material Handling expansion, a 292,000 SF manufacturing facility dedicated to the production of electric forklifts.

The project includes a 22,000 SF two-story composite steel office and a 270,000 SF high bay warehouse featuring structural steel framing, roof joists, and an insulated metal panel façade. Two ICC 500-compliant storm shelters are integrated into the facility, supporting safety, performance, and long-term resilience.

Construction is anticipated to be completed in June 2026.
