Before & After. What started as a basic, unfinished attic is now a bright, functional after-school play and homework space designed entirely around how kids actually use it.

Before: An underutilized attic with exposed framing and no real purpose.

During: Structural work, insulation, drywall, lighting, and layout planning to maximize ceiling height, natural light, and usable floor space.

After: A warm, inviting space where kids can do homework, create, play, and unwind after school. Plenty of light, comfortable finishes, and a layout that makes the most of every square foot.

Projects like this are our favorite because they add real, everyday value for families. This isn’t just extra space. It’s a place for learning, creativity, and memories.

Revive. Transform. Restore.

Before work ever began inside the Metamora Castle, we started with one of the surrounding buildings on the property.

This pole barn had years of roof, gutter, and water damage that eventually led to mold issues throughout the space.

The floors and cabinets had to be completely removed so the structure could be brought back to a healthy foundation.

Because the home sits on a slab, traditional HVAC was not the best solution for long-term heat.

So the team installed a wood burning stove and then opened up part of the kitchen wall into the living room to allow proper airflow and circulation.

The goal was to restore the building in a way that honored the space while also making it functional and comfortable again.

From there, new cabinetry, fresh finishes, and thoughtful design transformed this pole barn into a warm and welcoming home. Fresh, bright, and breathable. Mold free and structurally protected. A complete revival.

This is what we love to do. Take neglected spaces and bring them back to life with intention, craftsmanship, and respect for the original character.
