Our Spring 2026 intern capstone projects reflect REA’s commitment to life-long learning, curiosity, and knowledge sharing across all levels of the firm.
This spring, our planning interns from the University of Cincinnati explored how design can shape more connected, visible, and people-focused communities through two unique research initiatives:
🚍 Transit Legibility
Alexis Spurlock, developed concepts for redesigned signage and stop infrastructure for Cincinnati Metro. Her project focused on improving accessibility, rider experience, and strengthening transit’s presence within the public realm.
💧 Urban Waterways
Dylan Gomez examined the history of waterways in Indianapolis and explored opportunities to daylight Pogue’s Run near downtown. His research studied how cities across the country have reintegrated waterways into urban environments and identified strategies related to land use, urban design, function, and transformation.
We’re proud to support emerging professionals as they contribute fresh ideas and perspectives.
