Is your home on Septic? Did you know The Board of Health recommends your tank be pumped every 3 to 5 years?Have you recently had your tank pumped because it was backing up? Here's some information that may be helpful.If the level of the tank is above working level, that means the Absorption field is not accepting wastewater from the home.and may be forcing solids out into the Absorption field, this could cause catastrophic failure.Here are a few things that can cause the level in the tank to be riding high.1. Sump pump tied into the system or anywhere around it.2. Downspouts and surface water should be directed away.3. Drippy faucets or running toiletsOne of the most important part of a septic system that should be checked whenever serviced is the outlet baffle or effluent filter,If gone or fallen off ? (the floating solids will go out into your absorption field)It was designed to keep the floating solids in the tank for them to break down and fall to the bottom to be pumped out every 3 to 5 years.Problems?
