🎒❤️ CHASE’S FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL ❤️🎒

Three years ago, if you would’ve told me I’d be making a “First Day of School” post for Chase, I probably would’ve cried until I couldn’t cry anymore.

Because three years ago, we were told our baby wasn’t supposed to make it past infancy.

And yet… HERE. HE. IS. 🥹

Our tornado baby — quite literally born during a tornado 🌪️ — has spent his entire life proving that the odds don’t get the final say.

Chase has hydrocephalus, but hydrocephalus has never defined what he is capable of.

This little boy has absolutely defied the odds.

❤️ He knows sign language.
🗣️ He’s been talking since he was just 4 months old.
👓 He went through a season of wearing glasses — and today has perfect 20/20 vision.
🏈 He LOVES football.
⚾️ He LOVES baseball.
🎒 And now, at 3 years old, HE IS GOING TO SCHOOL.

Something we were once made to wonder if we would ever get to see.

There were so many things we were told he might never do. So many milestones we didn’t know if we’d get to celebrate.

And now I get to watch him put on his backpack and head off for his first day of school.

If you could go back three years and show that scared mama this picture — show her the little boy he would become — she would be absolutely sobbing tears of joy.

Because he wasn’t supposed to be able to do this.

Any of it.

But Chase apparently didn’t get that memo. ❤️

From a tiny baby fighting against the odds during a tornado… to a smart, stubborn, sports-loving 3-year-old walking into his first day of school.

Look at you, Chase. Look how far you’ve come. 🥹❤️

We are so incredibly proud of you.

Now go show them exactly who you are, Tornado Boy. 🌪️🎒🏈⚾️
