🌟 Employee Spotlight! 🌟

Today we are giving a well-deserved shoutout to John Farrow! 🎉 He has been with HK Contractors for an incredible 30 years. Starting out as a laborer on a grade crew doing smaller out-of-town jobs, John transitioned to running crews in 2007, and the rest is history!

One of his favorite aspects of this job has been the mentors he's had and the lasting friendships he's built and getting a new office every project.

John shares a piece of advice that has stuck with him: "You can do it right the first time or the last time; how many times in between is on you."

Outside of work, John loves spending time outdoors and with his amazing wife and kids.

Big things are happening in Yellowstone! 🛣️ 🦬🌲

HK Contractors are replacing the 60-year-old structure with the new Yellowstone River Bridge at Tower Junction. It will improve safety, restore nearby wetlands and wildlife habitat, and serve park visitors for decades. Once complete, it will be the largest man-made structure in Yellowstone National Park.

We're proud of the team making a lasting impact in one of America's most iconic places. The work will be completed in November.

A cool look at the technology we are using on the Iona Road project! This slinger truck uses a remote-controlled conveyor belt to place topsoil with precision while keeping crews safe. The project should be completed in the next few weeks. 🚜

🌟 Employee Spotlight: Leroy Shepherd 🌟

Join us in celebrating Leroy Shepherd and his incredible 42 years with HK!
Leroy began his career with us in May 1984 as a laborer before advancing through several roles, including asphalt plant operations and eventually managing crews in 1996. His dedication and leadership have made a lasting impact on our team.

When asked what he enjoys most about his job, Leroy shared: “I like the constant change and not being stuck in one location. The people I’ve met throughout the years have made it all worthwhile.”

Outside of work, Leroy enjoys spending time with his grandchildren and being outdoors fishing, hunting, and camping.
His advice for those just starting out?“ Bring something to the table. It’s not enough to just show up. Get to know the people you work with; some of them will become lifelong friends.”

HK crews are rolling hard on Hwy 20 from Idaho Falls to Rigby with overnight paving operations in full swing. Milling out the old and laying down a fresh asphalt overlay (known as mill & fill). 🌙🚧🛣️
