Plant Spotlight 🌟

Clematis
Bees Jubilee, Niobe, & Royal Cascade

Clematis is known as the “Queen of Climbers,” and is one of the most beloved flowering vines in the garden world . We’re currently stocking three stunning large-flowered varieties: the soft pink-mauve Bees Jubilee, the deep crimson Niobe, and the violet-blue Royal Cascade.

These are showstoppers in bloom but Clematis are surprisingly low-maintenance once established, thriving in Utah’s climate with regular watering and something to climb. Plant them where their roots stay cool and shaded (mulch or a low groundcover) and their tops reach the sun; they’ll reward you with blooms from late spring well into fall.

Plant Spotlight 🌟

Bristlecone Pine
Pinus aristata/Pinus longaeva

Arguably the longest living tree on the planet (Methusaleh the Bristlecone is 4,857 years old), the Bristlecone Pine is a native adapted to high-altitude, wind-swept mountains and deserts from Colorado to Nevada. We carry two species: Colorado Bristlecone (Pinus longaeva) and Great Basin Bristlecone (Pinus aristata), along with several cultivars.

Bristlecone Pines are a dramatic statement in any water-wise yard, with branches covered in dense, dark green needles, sparkling with white flecks of resin. In winter, their snow-covered branches are a welcome addition to dreary and cold winter days.

Low-maintenance, adaptable, water-wise, and tough-as-nails, a Utah landscape isn’t really complete without a Bristlecone Pine (or two!).
