Your kitchen sink works hard every day. Food residue, grease, dirty dishes and constant moisture can quickly turn it into a place you do not want to overlook.

Here’s how to clean and disinfect it properly:

1️⃣ Remove dishes, food scraps and anything around the sink.

2️⃣ Rinse the basin with warm water to loosen residue.

3️⃣ Add dish soap or a sink safe cleaner and scrub the entire basin with a sponge. Focus on the corners, drain, faucet base and handles.

4️⃣ Rinse thoroughly to remove the dirt and cleaning product.

5️⃣ Apply a disinfectant approved for your sink’s surface.

6️⃣ Keep the surface visibly wet for the full contact time listed on the product label. Spraying and wiping immediately may not properly disinfect it.

7️⃣ Rinse again if the label requires it, especially on food contact surfaces.

8️⃣ Dry with a clean microfiber cloth to help prevent water spots and leave the sink shining.

One important reminder: never mix cleaning products.
