Matt & Lizzie’s Victorian Home Remodel
Part 2: Behind the Walls
We’re taking another look back at the transformation of Matt and Lizzie’s 1899 Victorian home in Woodstock—this time showing the work that went into it before the walls and floors were closed up.
Once everything was opened up, we removed deteriorated and corroded piping, repaired and reinforced sections of the floor framing, and installed new subflooring.
In the primary bathroom, we relocated the toilet to the opposite side of the room to make more space for the shower and improve the layout.
We also removed the old plumbing wall between the bathroom and kitchenette, which was being converted into a laundry room. We rebuilt that wall thicker to accommodate the plumbing for the bathroom vanity, shower, washer, and utility sink, along with the supply lines and shutoffs—all coordinated within the same wall.
New framing, plumbing, electrical rough-ins, and ventilation work brought these spaces a big step closer to their finished look.
A big thank-you to Joe with Copperline Plumbing,Ron with R.C. Electrical Service, and Jay with Com24 Heating & Air Conditioning - Home Services for their work on this project. We appreciate having you as part of the team!
There’s a lot that goes into a remodel before the tile, paint, and fixtures. These pictures show some of that work and care.
More to come, including how we opened up the hallway doorways to help brighten the space—and the finished rooms!
