🎓 Congratulations, Lexi! 🎓

Tonight, our daughter Alexis officially graduated from high school, and we could not be more proud of her! ❤️

Not only did she earn her high school diploma, but she also completed over 60 dual credits, the Indiana College Core, and her Associate’s Degree while still in high school. Next stop: Ivy Tech for Interior Design!

As a family-owned business, moments like these mean everything to us. Thank you to everyone who has supported our family and our business over the years.

✨ Basement Remodel Transformation ✨

We recently wrapped up a big basement remodel for some wonderful clients at Christmas Lake Village in Santa Claus — and what a transformation this turned out to be! 👏

We took this dark, unfinished basement and turned it into a beautiful, functional living space featuring:

✔️ New drywall throughout the main area, bathroom, and bedroom
✔️ New luxury vinyl plank flooring in the main area
✔️ Several new doors and updated door hardware
✔️ A brand new sliding glass door
✔️ Beautiful glass French closet doors
✔️ New trim
✔️ Fresh paint and a much brighter, more inviting feel throughout the space

This project also came with an unexpected emotional moment for us. We had originally partnered with Doug Schmitt for all of the painting, but sadly, Doug passed away in the middle of the project. He was a talented painter and a good friend, and he is greatly missed. ❤️

Thankfully, EJ Paints stepped in and helped us get the project completed, and we truly appreciate them helping us finish strong.

Most of all, we want to thank our clients for the trust they placed in us throughout the process. Hearing that they already have another project in mind for us means the world, and we’re excited to work with them again!

⚠️ A simple fall can change everything.
We recently read about a woman who fell in her home and wasn’t found for days. Stories like that are heartbreaking—and more common than people realize.

It got us thinking about how many homes just aren’t set up for safe, long-term living.

Over the past few years, we’ve helped several families with Safer Home Upgrades, including replacing traditional bathtubs with walk-in showers to make daily life safer and easier.

🚿 This is one of the walk-in shower conversions we recently completed to help improve safety and accessibility in the home.
If you have aging parents, grandparents, or are thinking ahead for your own home… small changes now can make a big difference later.

Out with the old… in with a breezeway that can actually be used year-round.

This one had some design and leak issues, so we demoed it and built it back the right way.
Clean. Functional. Weather-tight.

We wrapped up this custom white vinyl privacy fence in Jasper and this one definitely kept things interesting 😅

Between thick tree roots, sandstone rock, and a challenging grade change for the gate, this was not your typical fence install.

✔️ Roots had to be cut out with a sawzall
✔️ Sandstone required a specialty drill bit
✔️ Gate had to be carefully configured to work with the slope

But that’s what we do — we figure it out and get it done right.
The end result turned out clean, sturdy, and built to last 🤍

Happy Saturday from Rummel Construction!

We still have a few raffle tickets available for the Builders Association of Dubois County annual fundraiser. Tickets are $5 each and there are over $6,500 in prizes donated by local businesses including cash prizes, gift cards, tools, golf passes, and more.

This fundraiser helps support the BADC Scholarship Program for local students pursuing careers in the building trades.

We recently joined the Builders Association of Dubois County and are excited to be part of such a strong local building community.

The association is currently holding their annual raffle fundraiser to support the BADC Scholarship Program for local students pursuing careers in the building trades.

There are over $6,500 in prizes donated by many local businesses, including cash prizes, gift cards, tools, golf passes, and more.

Tickets are $5 each and the drawing will be held April 21.
