Great site visit today.

We walked the property with a potential client and started mapping out the vision for their future home. We worked through layout, grades, drainage, building orientation, and more.

These early conversations set the foundation for everything that follows. Getting the details right before design begins is how we build homes that perform for decades.

One of the most exciting parts of building a custom home is bringing a client's vision to life through carefully selected finishes and thoughtful design.

Every decision matters: from the warmth of the cabinetry and flooring to the texture of the stone, the fireplace design, and how each material works together to create a cohesive space. What looks like a simple rendering represents countless hours of planning, collaboration, and refinement. A big thank you to Kristi Carlson with IFC for her partnership on this project.

Our team works closely with homeowners, designers, and suppliers to ensure every selection reflects not only the client's style, but how they'll actually live in the space for years to come.

Preparation is underway for another basement as we get everything set for in-floor radiant heat installation. From insulation and v***r barriers to carefully laying out the tubing, every step is done with precision to ensure lasting comfort and long-term performance.

Progress is moving right along at our Lake Michigan custom home! We recently completed the installation of the footings.

It's not every day you get to build with panoramic views of Lake Michigan just beyond the excavation. We can't wait to watch this home take shape as it rises from the sand and transforms into a one-of-a-kind lakeshore retreat.

Pierson Project Update!

The masonry is coming together beautifully! We started installing Random Ashlar Biltmore Blend natural stone, and it's already making a dramatic impact on the home's exterior.

This blend of warm browns, soft grays, sparkling mica, and subtle quartz accents add texture, depth, and timeless character while perfectly complementing the home's modern design. It's exciting to see the vision come to life one stone at a time.

Not all custom builders are the same. Before you sign anything, here are the questions worth asking:

1. How do you handle cost changes mid-project?
2. Who is my main point of contact throughout the build?
3. Can I see examples of homes at a similar budget?
4. What does your warranty cover and for how long?
5. How do you vet your subcontractors?

The answers will tell you a lot about how a builder operates when things get complicated. Because in a custom build, something always does.
