PSA! I don't usually do this sort of thing but it's been pointed out to me that I could be protecting someone else from getting scammed. Two gentlemen came to my house yesterday and claimed that they had just completed a landscaping job at one of my neighbor's. I should have ask who, but I was busy working and just let them continue to talk. They were driving a pick up truck that was pulling a trailer with pine needles in the back. They told me that they had "a few" left over bundles of pine needles that they felt would be perfect for this embankment on the side of our yard. They said they just wanted to get rid of the remaining pine needles on their trailer and they would give me a really good price. They even said that I would be helping them out. I kept asking how much it would be but they kept saying not much, only $4 a bundle and that was to spread it and everything. The trailer looked like it might have 20 bundles, maybe a little more. So, I'm thinking $80. They left and came back today, I noticed that they still had the same amount of pine needles on their trailer. When they were finished they handed me a bill of $2100.00. That would mean that they would have spread out 525 bundles of pine needles. I don't think their trailer would have held that many bundles. I want go into details, but we didn't pay that amount. The Sheriff's department is aware of what happened to us today. Just be aware! We found out these guys are not from this area, they do not own the truck that they are driving. They refused to tell me exactly where they are from, but we think they are from Georgia. They do not have any equipment, they used my rakes.
