Incredibly proud to have Mackenzie as part of the team!
Meet Mackenzie Russell.
Mackenzie graduated from the BSC program in 2025. She joined the building and construction trades because she wanted more diverse and hands-on experiences.
For 2 years, Mackenzie was rejected by multiple companies in the trades. A friend directed her to BSC, explaining it is a very strong community with tons of support, suggesting to Mackenzie that she should think about applying for the program.
“The highlight of Building Strong Communities was the amount of support they provided, proving to us that your dreams can come true. Taking this program required determination and commitment, but it was worth the experiences that came with it,” Mackenzie said.
As a result of her hard work, Mackenzie is now a member of IBEW Local 110 and currently works for Neo Electrical Solutions.
“The trades and unions have benefited my life in so many ways. I've made many friends throughout the school year, and many from job sites. The pension has also been beneficial for my future, as well as my 401k. Knowing I have a community in my union who has my back has been the most helpful part. There are going to be hard times in the trades, but no matter how hard things get, never give up.”
