They just don't make 'em like they used to. 🌀

We recently uncovered a couple of original metal Slinkys buried in a barn — decades of dust and all — and they still outperform any plastic Slinky you'll find on a shelf today. If you've watched a modern one flop and tangle after two steps down the stairs, you know exactly what we mean.

There's something special about finding a piece of the past that still works exactly the way it was meant to. Every cleanout we do is a little bit of a treasure hunt, and moments like this remind us why we love what we do.

What a great community moment to celebrate! We were so honored to support Art in the Park in downtown Pinckney last weekend — and it wouldn't have been possible without the Greater Brighton Area Chamber of Commerce making it all happen.

There's something special about showing up for the community we call home. Whether it's hauling junk or keeping a local celebration clean and running smoothly, we're always glad to do our part. Watching neighbors come together for a beautiful event like this is exactly why we love what we do.

We recently tackled a job that came with a bit of a challenge — a hefty pile of old wood located a good distance from the trailer.

Our guy Zach wasn't about to let that slow him down. He spotted an old tarp we were already hauling off and turned it into the perfect solution, loading it up and dragging the whole pile in one smooth haul.

And yes, for those wondering — I was absolutely standing there snapping photos while he did all the heavy lifting. 😄 That's teamwork… kind of.

You never know what… or who… you’re going to find on a junk removal job.

We thought we hit the jackpot when we found this green guy. Big muscles, intimidating look, definitely seemed like he could handle some heavy lifting.

Unfortunately, this guy turned out to be all show. Spent the whole day laying around while the rest of the crew worked.
Safe to say he didn’t make it through the interview process.

A hot tub inside is a dream… until it’s a 600-pound problem that won’t fit through the door.

We’ve seen it more times than we can count — a beautiful hot tub that once set the mood for the whole room is now just a massive, non-working obstacle eating up square footage and collecting dust.

Behind every successful day at Mitten Junk Removal is a team of hardworking people who genuinely care about our customers and each other.
Kyle and Zach continue to hold things down for us year-round as incredible team leads. Their leadership, consistency, and willingness to do whatever it takes help keep this company moving every single day.
We’re also excited to have Doug back for his second summer with us after wrapping up his college classes, and Rich will soon be joining us again for his second summer once his semester ends. Having guys come back year after year says a lot about the culture we’re building and the people who make it special.
We want to send a huge thank you to all four of these guys for taking care of us, our company, and all of our amazing customers.
