Carlisle WIP 100 is a 55-mil, self-adhering, rubberized-asphalt, fiberglass-reinforced roofing underlayment with a granular, slip-resistant surface. It is primarily used under shingle roofing for ice-dam and wind-driven-rain protection.
It can also be used for 100% roof-deck coverage where the assembly and code requirements allow it.
1. Granular surface = better traction
The textured surface provides improved skid resistance during installation, particularly compared with smooth self-adhered membranes.
2. 55-mil construction
A substantial rubberized-asphalt membrane reinforced with fiberglass provides durability while remaining flexible.
3. Self-adhering installation
The split-release film makes installation easier and faster.
4. Seals around fasteners
The membrane is designed to seal around roofing nails, staples and screws, helping protect against water intrusion.
5. Ice-dam protection
A strong selling point in northern climates where ice dams can force water underneath shingles.
6. Wind-driven rain protection
Provides a secondary waterproofing layer in vulnerable roof areas.
Important: WIP 100 should not be used under metal roofs or in contact with PVC materials.
