Worth revisiting as conservatives start heading to the polls. On July 31, comedian and political commentator Bill Maher attacked the rise of democratic socialism on his talk show, fretting how the movement has entered the Democratic Party. During his HBO show “Real Time” on Friday, Maher criticized democratic socialism and the organization behind it — Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) — for its likeness to “communism.” Clip of that show here.

EXCLUSIVE: Texas Senate candidate James Talarico drew an $83K salary from a consulting firm that pulled in over $5 million in state contracts — while he sat on the committee overseeing the agency that awarded those contracts.

TEA records show MAYA Consulting received two contracts totaling more than $5.2 million tied to COVID-19 learning loss priorities Talarico was pushing in the Texas House.

The RNC is calling it a "textbook pay-to-play scheme" as Talarico continues to attack Republican opponent Ken Paxton as "the most corrupt politician in Texas."
