Started off a rainy day, but once the sky cleared, we got the job done. Flawless takedown. Low impact on yard and stump grounded. Customer was great to work with. Jon bought the crew 4 large pizzas for lunch, provided drinks and was very grateful. The customer relations were ideal and helped us get a very laborious job done efficiently.

Trees are among the quiet heroes of our planet. 🌳💚

Every day they absorb carbon dioxide, release oxygen and help regulate the climate that keeps life on Earth possible. Some trees can absorb more than 40 kilograms of carbon each year, making forests one of the most important natural defenses against climate change.
But their role goes far beyond that. Trees provide homes for wildlife, stabilize soil, protect water systems and create the forests that countless species depend on.

And yet, despite everything they give, the only thing trees truly need from us is simple, the chance to keep growing and living. Sometimes protecting nature begins with recognizing how much we already depend on it. 🌿✨

Feed Your Trees the Smart Way 🌳

Trees may look independent, but they still enjoy a good meal now and then. A little fertilizing keeps them strong, leafy, and productive.

1️⃣ Know why it matters
Fertilizer helps trees grow faster, stay green, and resist disease.
If leaves turn yellow or growth seems slow, they might be hungry.
Relatable mistake: thinking rain alone is enough food. Water isn’t fertilizer 😅

2️⃣ Focus on the essentials
Nitrogen boosts leafy growth.
Phosphorus supports roots and flowers.
Potassium strengthens the tree against stress.
A balanced mix keeps everything in harmony.

3️⃣ Time it right
Spring is the main feeding season.
Light feeding in summer helps fruit trees.
In fall, use potassium to prepare for winter.
Avoid late nitrogen — trees shouldn’t start growing right before cold weather.

4️⃣ Choose your type
Compost and organic options improve soil over time.
Mineral fertilizers act faster but should be used carefully.

5️⃣ Apply it properly
Spread fertilizer around the drip line, not against the trunk.
Water well after feeding.
Adding mulch helps lock in nutrients.

Feed wisely, not heavily — your trees will reward you with healthier growth and better blooms 🌳

Put down the chainsaw and pick up the hand-held loppers!

Crape myrtles are popular for their low-maintenance beauty, but they can benefit from some light pruning this time of year -- January to early March!

Crape myrtles that are only pruned to remove suckers (small sprouts that grow from the roots and main branches) and dead, broken, or diseased branches will grow into their natural shape. If you want to maintain a natural shape, do not drastically reduce them every year.

Topping removes all the upper branches. Many people prefer this look, and crape myrtles can survive topping. However, this severe method of pruning results in a disproportionate tree, can shorten the life of your crape myrtle, and will reduce its overall flowering.

You don’t have to prune crape myrtles drastically to have them fit in your landscape. Crape myrtles come in a variety of sizes, from miniature shrubs to 30-feet-tall trees. (Major pruning is not required if you select the right cultivar for your space!!)
