Celebrating 30 Years of Service — Manuel Angel Negrete

Today, we are proud to recognize Manuel Angel Negrete for an incredible 30 years of dedicated service with Texas Sterling Construction.

For three decades, Manuel has been a skilled heavy equipment operator in the heavy civil construction industry. He has spent countless hours in the operator’s seat, moving dirt, shaping projects, and helping turn plans on paper into finished work.

Being a great equipment operator takes more than simply knowing how to run a machine. It takes experience, patience, precision, awareness, and a commitment to doing the job right. Over the past 30 years, Manuel has developed those skills through thousands of hours in the field and on some of the challenging projects Texas Sterling Construction has taken on.

Throughout his career, Manuel has witnessed tremendous changes in construction—new equipment, new technology, new challenges, and new generations of employees entering the industry. Through all those changes, one thing has remained constant: his dedication to his craft and his commitment to getting the job done.

Thirty years is a milestone that very few people achieve. It represents more than time spent with a company—it represents loyalty, hard work, perseverance, and pride in what you do.

Manuel’s experience is also something that cannot be replaced. The knowledge he has gained over 30 years is invaluable, and the example he sets for younger employees is a reminder of what a long, successful career in construction can look like.

Manuel, thank you for 30 years of hard work, dedication, and commitment to Texas Sterling Construction. We appreciate everything you have contributed over the years and the many projects you have helped build.

Congratulations on 30 years of service! We are proud to have you as part of the Texas Sterling Construction family and look forward to celebrating many more milestones with you.

At Texas Sterling Construction, safety is more than a requirement—it's a core value that guides everything we do. Our recent Forklift Safety Training reinforced our commitment to providing employees with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to operate powered industrial trucks safely and responsibly.

During the training, team members reviewed safe operating procedures, equipment inspections, load handling techniques, stability principles, hazard recognition, pedestrian awareness, and site-specific operating requirements. The session emphasized the importance of performing thorough pre-use inspections, maintaining clear communication, adhering to designated travel routes, and understanding the unique risks associated with forklift operations on active construction sites.

Hands-on evaluations and practical demonstrations allowed operators to apply classroom concepts in real-world scenarios while reinforcing safe operating habits and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

By investing in ongoing training and continuous improvement, Texas Sterling Construction demonstrates its unwavering commitment to protecting our employees, subcontractors, and the communities in which we work. Every employee plays a vital role in creating a culture where safety is a shared responsibility, and every task is performed with the goal of ensuring that everyone goes home safely at the end of each day.

Today in the STX area, we ended Safety Week ‘26 with a BBQ lunch. The STX crews ate BBQ Chicken and or burgers with all the sides. Then we had a “Pop” quiz to see what they had learned this week. The Area Manager handed out gift cards to those who answered questions correctly. Today was a good day.
