A before and after worth revisiting! This tilt-wall project in Pasadena kept the same overall color scheme, but you’d hardly know it from the before photo. That faded, yellowed section was originally a deep gray.

A new exterior coating brought the original colors back, with deep gray, crisp white, and red accents giving the building a much cleaner appearance.

Putting off a commercial painting project may seem like the more cost-effective choice at first, but waiting could actually mean more work when it’s finally time to repaint.

When coatings are still in good condition, repainting typically requires less corrective preparation. Once paint begins peeling, corrosion develops, or the surface underneath becomes damaged, crews may need to remove failing coatings, treat rust, make repairs, or complete additional surface preparation before painting can even begin.

Taking care of painted surfaces before they reach that point can help keep maintenance focused on protecting your facility instead of addressing damage that may have been prevented!

What started as an open wall with exposed wiring, equipment, and mounting hardware is now patched, repaired, and ready for a clean finish!

With multiple cables and AV components that needed to remain in place, the wall had to be closed back up carefully around the existing setup. Our team repaired the drywall and restored the surface without interfering with the equipment.

Aggies are moving into this Dallas office building!

Our crew completed the exterior repaint, replacing the existing gray with a deep maroon selected for the building’s new occupants. The completed color scheme gives the property an unmistakable Aggie identity.

OSHA establishes specific uses for safety colors in industrial facilities, including red for certain danger and emergency-stop applications and yellow for caution and physical hazards.

Facilities may also use additional color-coding systems to identify safety equipment and designated areas based on their own procedures and other applicable standards. These facility-specific markings should be documented and accounted for when planning a commercial or industrial painting project.

Humidity can make or break an industrial coating application. Many industrial coating systems require relative humidity below 80–85%, while the substrate typically needs to be at least 3°C (5.4°F) above the dew point before coating.

Why does this matter?

When a surface reaches its dew point, moisture can condense on the substrate. Applying a coating over that moisture can affect adhesion, curing, and quality.

This is why environmental monitoring is an important part of industrial painting. Temperature, relative humidity, and surface temperature all need to be monitored before and during application!

In industrial facilities, color can serve a practical purpose as part of a facility’s safety identification system. For this project, designated columns were painted to identify areas with fire extinguishers and eyewash stations. These visual markings help distinguish safety equipment locations while maintaining the facility’s established safety procedures and compliance requirements.
