Recap from our 2026 Alair Project Management Summit! This year we brought our team together in Denver, CO for three days of learning, connection and celebration with fellow Alair builders and project managers from across North America.

Every year, this summit gives our project managers the chance to step outside their local markets, learn from one another and connect with industry partners, so we can be even better at what we do. From technical learning and industry insights to candid conversations between peers, there was so much to take in!

While every Alair builder works from the same internal systems and holds the same high standards, each team brings something unique from its own market and background. Sharing those ideas helps every market grow, and that’s what makes Alair better together. We came home inspired by how other teams collaborate, with fresh ideas to bring our team more clarity, support and enjoyment in their roles, ultimately leading to an even better experience for our homeowners.

How do we continue to learn, improve and raise the standard of what we do?

For Alair’s project managers, it starts with understanding the details behind the build. Why building assemblies work. How materials and construction methods perform in practice. And how the right processes and decisions can influence the outcome of a project.

At our 2026 PM Summit in Denver, these questions were at the center of hands-on building science training, technical discussions and workshops. Project managers explored real-world construction challenges, examined different approaches and gained insights they can apply to their work in the field.

Our vendor partners brought another valuable perspective, sharing their technical expertise, product knowledge and experience from across the industry. These conversations created space to ask questions, exchange feedback and explore solutions to the challenges our teams encounter on projects.

Ultimately, improving how we build requires more than experience alone. It takes curiosity, a willingness to challenge what we know and a commitment to continually refining our approach.

That’s the value of investing in technical knowledge and bringing industry expertise into the conversation.

Alair’s Project Management Summit is where Alair’s Project Managers come together across North America to learn, share, and build better ways of elevating project delivery.

With Project Managers from across Canada and the U.S., PM Summit creates a unique opportunity to exchange ideas, learn from industry experts, strengthen processes, and bring practical insights back to our local teams and projects.

One question we hear often is: when the best trades are already busy, how do you make sure your project stays on track? A big part of the answer is the relationships built through working together over time, but it also takes planning. Coordinating schedules, communicating expectations, and understanding how each trade works are all part of managing that process well. Hugh, our Alair Galveston partner and a four-time Alair client before joining the team, experienced those relationships from the homeowner side first and saw how that trust and coordination translate into a better client experience.

It takes many hands to build a home, and the way those people work together can shape the entire client experience. To our wonderful trade partners, thank you for the skill, care, and collaboration you bring to every project.

Construction Appreciation Week gives us a good opportunity to answer a question we often get from potential clients: How do we choose our trade partners?

The best trade relationships are built over years, sometimes decades, but longevity doesn’t happen by accident. Our team is intentional about who comes onto a project, and that care is part of why those relationships become so strong.

When we’re making new connections, we lean heavily on referrals from builders and industry professionals we trust, then take the time to understand their experience, the type of work they’ve done, and who they’ve worked with. For more critical or specialized scopes, like HVAC, that process can go even further, including meeting with ownership and touring their facilities to better understand how they operate.

That level of care is part of what makes these relationships so valuable, and we’re grateful for the trusted trade partners who play such an important role in every project we build.
