Replacing a serving line shouldn’t have to mean trenching floors, adding stub-ups, or reworking the building just to get power, plumbing, gas and data where they need to go.

Mod-U-Serve Utility Risers bring it all down from above and into the serving line. A plumber or electrician can run the utilities overhead, connect to the riser, and have the line ready to go in an afternoon.

Simple. Fast. No major construction required.

And this isn’t just an electrical chase. It’s a highly engineered, UL listed system built to handle electrical, plumbing, gas and data in one clean, purpose-built package.

Well built. Tested. Safe. Ready to work.
That's the Mod-U-Serve way.

What makes a serving line the right serving line?
It’s not just about putting food on a counter. It’s about making the food look good, keeping it at the right temperature, and making sure the line flows so people can get through it without a bottleneck.

Get those three things right, and you’re not just serving food. You’re serving people the way they should be served.

That’s what a good serving line is built to do.

No corners cut.

Foodservice operations change. Your serving line should be able to change with them.

That’s where modular design makes a difference.

Need to swap out equipment? Add a component? Reconfigure the line? A modular serving counter gives you the flexibility to make those changes without tearing everything apart and starting over.

Build your serving line around what you need today and make sure it’s ready for whatever comes next.

Designed for today. Built for tomorrow. That’s the advantage of modular.

At Rayburn High School, space for serving lines was limited. But as the school grew, Mod-U-Serve was able to grow with it, adding unit after unit until the serving lines stretched across an entire wall of the cafeteria.

Because each unit is modular, the team has been able to expand, adapt, and create different themed lines without having to start from scratch.

Built to adapt. Built to grow. Built for the way schools evolve.

Project Update!
The serving lines that started as stainless steel framing are now complete, with the front panels, stone countertops, sneeze guards, wells, stainless tray slides, glass overshelves with reflective framing, electrical and plumbing all in place.

And while the finished product looks clean, the work underneath is just as important. These lines were engineered with serviceability and future flexibility in mind, making it easy to service or retrofit equipment as needs change.

The continuous countertops give the lines a clean, one-piece look, while the 304 stainless steel construction and reinforced framing provide the strength to handle years of daily use.

Now they're wrapped up, loaded on the truck and headed to their final destination.

Thanks to Foodservice Design Professionals and Oswalt Restaurant Supply for being part of the project!

When maintenance is part of the job, access matters.

When Robert Trevino, Maintenance Foreman for Arlington ISD, was tasked with evaluating serving line manufacturers, Mod-U-Serve stood out, not just for functionality and design, but for how easy the lines are to maintain.

The units are mobile and detachable, giving maintenance teams the access they need to get underneath, around and into the serving line without fighting through tight spaces.

As Robert puts it, “I can get to all the parts that I need to fairly easy, with almost no problem at all.”

That kind of serviceability matters. Because when something needs attention, the easier it is to get to, the easier it is to get back up and running.

K-12 is a big part of what we do. But it’s not all we do.

Mod-U-Serve has also built serving lines and spaces for corporate, healthcare and other business and industry environments. From BP Exploration & Production to St. Joseph Medical Center, we’ve put our modular approach, custom fabrication and attention to detail to work in spaces where the serving line needs to do more than serve food. It needs to fit the space, fit the operation and look like it belongs there.

Different environments. Different needs. Same Mod-U-Serve approach: build it right, make it work, and make it yours.

Arlington High School wanted more than a serving line. They wanted something built specifically for their students, their school and the way they serve meals today, while still being ready for whatever comes next.

From the colors and graphics to the flexibility, ease of operation and maintenance, every detail was considered. And the best part? Hearing students say, “They were made for me.”

That’s when you know you got it right.

Hear from David Lewis, Executive Director of Food Nutrition Services for Arlington ISD, on what went into creating a serving line that truly feels like Arlington High.

We call it the Rolls-Royce of milk coolers. Not because we like to talk big, but because we built it by looking at what was wrong with other milk coolers and fixing it. We took the weak points and addressed them one by one.

🔹 Cold-wall refrigeration. No forced air. It’s more efficient and does a better job of keeping product at the right temperature.

🔹 A slide-out refrigeration skid. When it needs service, you can get to it without tearing the whole thing apart.

🔹 Fully welded stainless steel liner and drain. Solid construction that can handle the daily grind.

🔹 Easy-to-replace gaskets. No need to make a simple repair complicated.

And most importantly, we kept the design simple. No bunch of unnecessary parts. No over-engineered systems that make service a headache.

Just a tough, dependable milk cooler that’s built to work hard and built to be serviced when the time comes.

That’s how we build at Mod-U-Serve.

“I wanted a collegiate style dining experience for these high school kids. Something with character. Lots of curves, lots of dimensions. And I have it.”

That was Julie Smith’s vision for Nashville School District. And when the students walked in and saw their new serving line for the first time, their reaction said it all.

At Mod-U-Serve, we listen to what our customers need, then build around their vision. For Nashville Schools, that meant a serving line that could handle more choices, keep food at the right temperature, and give students an experience that felt like more than just a school lunch.

We’re proud to have helped bring Julie’s vision to life, and even prouder that it exceeded her expectations.
