The airport of the future is not just about getting passengers to the gate. It's about improving every part of the journey along the way.

DFW Airport Terminal D Expansion added four new gates capable of serving either narrow-body or wide-body aircraft, along with hold rooms, concessions, restrooms and airline operations facilities.

Passenger experience drove design decisions including flexible lounge-style seating, food delivery to passenger seats, and View Glass technology that responds to sunlight while displaying travel and airport information.

The project shows how thoughtful design and new technology can make one of the busiest parts of travel more comfortable, intuitive, and enjoyable.

Sand, sun, and a whole lot of teamwork! 🏖️🏰

Last Saturday, the HarrisonKornberg team hit the beach in Galveston for the 2026 AIA Sandcastle Competition! This year, we teamed up with Bartlett Cocke GC to bring our “Keepers of the Reef” creation to life. 🪸🐠

From planning and building to the final details, we had a great time getting creative and spending the day alongside so many talented teams from Houston’s AEC community.

A big thank you to everyone who joined us in the sand and helped make this year’s competition one to remember!

A new chapter is taking shape at Austin Community College’s Hays Campus! 🏗️

We joined ACC to celebrate the groundbreaking of its new Healthcare Professions Building. The space will give more students room for hands-on training and clinical preparation in fields including nursing, dental hygiene, sonography, and surgical technology.

We’re proud to be part of a project that will help prepare the next generation of healthcare professionals to serve Central Texas. Congratulations, ACC! 👏

Designed to support the people who serve their community, the Harris County Precinct One Administrative and Community Center brings twenty departments together in a light-filled, collaborative workplace.

The LEED Platinum facility includes flexible meeting and community spaces, a covered outdoor porch and connections to a new community park with walking trails and urban farming areas. Interior and exterior spaces were intentionally linked to create an environment that supports both day-to-day operations and meaningful community connection.

What does the future of engineering education look like?

At Texas A&M University‘s Zachry Engineering Education Complex, the answer goes beyond traditional classrooms and laboratories. The transformed facility brings together learning environments with a makerspace, design center and spaces that encourage students to work collaboratively, experiment and put ideas into practice.

The project represents a shift toward a more student-centered model of engineering education, where learning happens through making, problem-solving and interaction.

We're proud to have been part of a project designed to support the next generation of Aggie engineers.

At Kinder HSPVA, the building itself had to perform.

Working with Gensler, HarrisonKornberg designed the educational and studio spaces within Houston ISD's five-story home for young artists. The vertically-organized campus brings together an 800-seat theater, black box theater, recital hall, recording studio, dance studios, visual arts spaces, music facilities and academic learning centers within one downtown site.

Daylit gathering areas, lobby seating and a rooftop courtyard give students opportunities to connect, collaborate and create outside the classroom.

For a school built around the arts, every space becomes part of the creative experience.

A successful college experience happens in more places than just the classroom.

At the University of Houston-Downtown's Student Wellness and Success Center, fitness, recreation, learning and connection come together under one roof. The 75,000-square-foot facility includes a three-court gymnasium, elevated running track, bouldering wall, fitness spaces and a demonstration kitchen, alongside areas for studying, socializing and collaborative lessons in health and wellness.

Elevated above the White Oak Bayou floodplain, the building also takes advantage of its location with expansive glass and views of the downtown Houston skyline.

Our team delivered a space designed to support the whole student: academically, socially, and physically.
