Saturday at Shell Energy Stadium was a good one for the Hays team.

We joined Construction Career Collaborative and Houston Dynamo FC for Construction Industry Night, where we spent the afternoon talking with job seekers about electrical construction, career opportunities, and what working at Hays Electrical Services looks like.

As the event’s Presenting Sponsor, Hays also had the opportunity to speak to the crowd. Director of Recruiting DJ Wilson highlighted career opportunities with Hays across the country and the many ways to build a career in the electrical industry, both in the field and in the office.

The Data Center Anti Conference (DCAC) USA 2026 brought over 1,200 attendees to Austin, and what a time it was! ⚡️

Hays Electrical Services teamed up with Lonestar Electric Supply to co-host the DCAC After Party at Inn Cahoots, bringing industry partners together for a fun night of good conversations, new connections, and time with familiar faces.

Two recognitions. One strong safety record. ⚡

At AGC Houston ’s 2026 Mid-Year Safety Meeting, Hays Electrical Services was named Large Specialty Contractor of the Year and received a Certificate of Commendation for our 2025 safety performance, including a Zero Incident Rate in the Associate/Specialty 325,000+ work hours category.

Another year at zero is something worth celebrating. It reflects the planning, communication, accountability, and attention our teams bring to the job every day, and the commitment it takes to keep safety at the forefront of every project.

Building the workforce takes more than recruiting. It takes a plan for how people learn, grow, and stay with the company.

Hays Electrical Services CEO Eric Hays joined fellow industry leaders at American Subcontractors Association - Houston Chapter (ASA-HC)'s General Lunch Meeting for a conversation about recruiting, developing, and retaining the next generation of construction talent.

With Hays teams supporting projects across the country, including a job getting underway in Anchorage, Alaska, training has to be able to go where the work goes. Hays’ nationally accredited apprenticeship program can be completed remotely on an iPad or phone, with orientation and boot camps in Houston and continued development under experienced foremen and superintendents in the field.

Eric shared how Hays thinks about retention:

“Retention is a result, just like profits are a result. It's a result of everything you did with that employee, right up to the end of the job. If you fail to retain someone, focus on the root cause, not on retention itself.”

Recently, our team reached a major project milestone at The Ritz-Carlton Residences. ⚡

During a scheduled shutdown, crews completed the temporary-to-permanent power cutover, bringing the building onto its permanent electrical system.

It’s a significant step toward project completion and one that took careful planning and coordination across the team.
