🏆 A proud moment for Hays.

We are excited to share that our CEO, Eric Hays, has been named an EY Entrepreneur Of The Year® 2026 Gulf South Regional Award Winner and will now advance to the national Entrepreneur Of The Year® competition this November in Palm Springs, California.

Last week, we had the honor of celebrating alongside 36 outstanding finalists from across the Gulf South region. To see Eric recognized among such an accomplished group of entrepreneurs and business leaders was a moment we will not forget.

This recognition is incredibly special, not only because of the award itself, but because of what it represents.

From apprentice electrician to Entrepreneur Of The Year® Gulf South Award Winner, Eric’s journey reflects the leadership, vision, and commitment that have helped grow Hays Electrical Services from a company founded in 2007 into a nationally recognized organization serving clients across 38+ states.

: George R. Brown Convention Center Transformation ⚡

Hays Electrical Services is proud to be part of the transformation of the George R. Brown Convention Center, one of the largest development projects in Houston's history.

This $2 billion project will add a new 700,000-square-foot convention facility, a 100,000-square-foot pedestrian plaza, and major infrastructure improvements designed to strengthen Houston's position as a global destination for sports, entertainment, tourism, and business. The investment comes at a timely moment as Houston prepares to host FIFA World Cup matches this summer.

A project of this size needs much more than just lighting and outlets. It also requires major power distribution, emergency power, life safety systems, and integrated controls to support one of Houston’s biggest public developments.

We're excited to play a role in a project that will shape the city's future for decades to come!

Hays Electrical Services recently held a week-long leadership bootcamp with our Field Leadership and Project Controls teams.

The focus was strengthening the connection between project planning, field leadership, and day-to-day ex*****on.

This brought together leaders across our field operations, including Field Operations Managers, Superintendents, General Superintendents, Directors, Vice Presidents, and our Project Controls team.

Throughout the week, the group worked through real project examples, shared what they see in the field, and built a scheduling playbook that connects digital planning with real jobsite experience.

A schedule is more than a document. It is the plan the field has to live by.

It drives manpower, sequencing, coordination, material readiness, safety, and every critical handoff that keeps a project moving. When the team building the schedule is aligned with the leaders responsible for executing it, the field is better equipped, decisions are made earlier, and the project can move forward with fewer surprises.

Our COO, Darrell Carder, led the bootcamp by guiding the conversations, sharing operational insight, and helping the teams align around a more consistent approach to planning and ex*****on.

For Hays, this is part of investing in the people and systems behind the work. Stronger field leadership, clearer communication, and better planning all lead to more predictable results for our projects and clients.

Yesterday, Hays Electrical Services welcomed 25 students from Houston Independent School District for Career Day, giving them a real look at what a future in the skilled trades could be like.

Students walked through our prefab warehouses, BIM offices, recruiting department, and other parts of our facility to see how every team plays a role in building projects across the country. They connected with professionals across the company, asked questions, and gained honest insight into the opportunities, growth, and career prospects this industry offers.

One of the most meaningful moments of the day came when eight students stepped forward to take the helper test. Two students passed and received job offers on the spot, turning a day of learning into the start of a real opportunity!

Seeing students come in curious about the industry and leave feeling confident about their future is why these opportunities are so important. We are proud to welcome students like these into our company and give them the opportunity to begin building a future in the electrical industry.
