Safety is not a moment. It's a standard.

Every project, task, and decision carries responsibility. The way we plan, communicate, and execute work each day has a direct impact on the people around us.

As we recognize National Safety Month, we are highlighting the commitment our teams bring to the job every day. Because doing quality work and working safely go hand in hand.

Great leaders develop people, not just performance.

We’re continuing our series by highlighting leaders who invest in the development and achievement of the people around them.

Brittany Harris, Direct AP Manager at Hays Electrical Services, shares her perspective on helping people grow by first understanding who they are. Taking the time to learn what motivates someone, where they want to go, and how they define success creates opportunities for meaningful development. When leaders invest in people as individuals, they help build the confidence, skills, and leadership needed for lasting growth.

Yesterday, Hays Electrical Services welcomed 25 students from Houston Independent School District for Career Day, giving them a real look at what a future in the skilled trades could be like.

Students walked through our prefab warehouses, BIM offices, recruiting department, and other parts of our facility to see how every team plays a role in building projects across the country. They connected with professionals across the company, asked questions, and gained honest insight into the opportunities, growth, and career prospects this industry offers.

One of the most meaningful moments of the day came when eight students stepped forward to take the helper test. Two students passed and received job offers on the spot, turning a day of learning into the start of a real opportunity!

Seeing students come in curious about the industry and leave feeling confident about their future is why these opportunities are so important. We are proud to welcome students like these into our company and give them the opportunity to begin building a future in the electrical industry.

Projects go more smoothly when the behind-the-scenes work is handled well.
At Hays Electrical Services, prefabrication means more than just putting materials together. It is a team effort that focuses on quality, planning, clear communication, and getting everything ready for a successful installation.
In this video, Jeremy Hunt, our Logistics Director, shows how teamwork and skill drive our prefab operation each day. Every detail helps us work more efficiently, cut down on rework, and keep our projects safer.
What happens on-site is just one part of the story. Behind every installation, a team works ahead to make sure the right materials arrive when they are needed.
That is how we build strong projects. That is .

Some things deserve to be remembered, not just acknowledged. ⚡

This Memorial Day, we honor the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

Their sacrifice is the reason we are able to show up, do our work, and live our lives with the freedoms we often take for granted. It is not something to overlook or reduce to a long weekend.

Today is about remembering those who never made it home, and recognizing the families who carry that loss forward.

We remember their service, their sacrifice, and their impact.

Hays Electrical Services was honored to host the American Subcontractors Association - Houston Chapter (ASA-HC)'s She Builds It Lunch & Learn at our headquarters, featuring guest speaker Kiki Clarke.

Through She Builds It, ASA Houston continues creating space for women across construction to connect, learn, lead, and be reminded of the value they bring to this industry.

Kiki brought a message that stayed with the room: “Pressure isn’t here to break you, it’s here to build your strength.”

That truth hit home.

In an industry where it can be easy to shrink back, the conversation challenged everyone in the room to see pressure differently. Not as a setback. Not as a reason to question whether you belong. But as an opportunity to grow, lead with confidence, and keep showing up with purpose.

We are grateful to ASA Houston for trusting Hays to host such a meaningful event, and to every woman who showed up, shared space, and invested in her growth. We look forward to continuing to support conversations like this!

As we reflect on National Apprenticeship Week, we’re reminded that the future of the skilled trades is already being built. ⚡

Hays Electrical Services recently had the honor of collaborating with Gallery Furniture and Premier High School - Houston Gallery Furniture North to speak with students about careers in the electrical trade and the opportunities that can come from choosing this path.

This visit was especially meaningful for Martin Jaquez, our Field Operations Manager and 5K Electrical Apprenticeship Program Instructor.

Six years ago, Martin was working in the field as a Journeyman electrician during COVID, serving as an essential worker and helping wire the very building these students now train and learn in.

He walked back into that same school, this time to share his story, his passion for the trade, and the real career paths available through electrical construction.

To stand in front of those students, not just as someone who works in the trade, but as someone who helped bring that building to life, was a powerful full-circle moment.

Martin shared real insight into the electrical trade, from the challenges and rewards of field work to the pride and responsibility that come with building schools, hospitals, facilities, and critical infrastructure that communities depend on every day.

He also spoke about the importance of hard work, accountability, consistency, and the willingness to keep learning. The students asked great questions about the work, training, pay, benefits, and what a real career in the trades can look like.

Those conversations matter because exposure creates opportunity.

Through our 5K Electrical Apprenticeship Program, Hays is committed to helping create real pathways for the next generation through training, hands-on learning, field experience, and long-term career development.

Having Martin represent Hays in that room made the moment even more meaningful. He was not only sharing his personal experience in the trade, but also reflecting the heart of what we believe at Hays: that skilled work has purpose, that opportunity should be shared, and that the next generation deserves to see what is possible.

For us, this visit was about more than speaking to students. It was about showing up, making the trade real, and helping young people understand that electrical construction can offer a future built with pride, stability, growth, and impact.

We are grateful for the opportunity to represent Hays, support Premier High School, and continue investing in conversations that help shape the future of our industry.
