The Abel Design Group Denver team recently spent a day giving back with Wilderness On Wheels, an organization dedicated to making Colorado’s outdoors accessible to people of all abilities.

Our team helped clear deadfall and brush around the boardwalk and picnic areas, supporting important fire mitigation efforts while helping maintain a safe and welcoming environment for visitors.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to step outside the office, work together, and support an organization creating greater access to the outdoors in our Denver community.

Last Friday, our Goree and Abel Design Group teams traded in the office for some quality time with a few four-legged friends at the Houston Humane Society!

With plenty of animal lovers across our offices, this was an especially fun way to spend time together while giving back to our community. Our team helped walk and provide enrichment for dogs, spent time with the cats throughout the shelter, stopped by to give the horses some attention, and bagged 156 bags of dog food for the Pet Pantry program.

Thank you to the Houston Humane Society for welcoming our team and giving us the opportunity to support the animals in their care and the families they serve. We’re grateful for an afternoon well spent!

Taking in Utrecht, one sketch at a time.

While exploring Utrecht, a city right outside of Amsterdam, Principal Laura Evans continued to put pen to paper, capturing one of Amsterdam’s canal bridges and the surrounding architecture.

We were proud to celebrate Rachel Gillock as the Emerging Leader Honoree, recognizing her commitment to thoughtful design, mentorship, and making a meaningful impact within the design community.

From Utrecht to Scotland, inspiration was traveling with our team earlier this month.

Principals Kathy Chauvin and Laura Evans found themselves exploring different parts of Europe at the same time, and naturally, sketches started making their way back and forth across the globe.

As they explored, each captured the architecture, spaces, and details that caught their eye, sharing a little glimpse of their travels with one another along the way.

Different destinations, different views, and a shared love for putting pen to paper.
