Fall garden season is here, Houston! Here’s what to get in the ground over the next couple of weeks 👇
🌱 TRANSPLANT VEGGIES
Artichoke, broccoli, brussels sprouts, cabbage, cauliflower, collards, garlic, kale, kohlrabi, leeks, onion*, spinach*, swiss chard, turnips
🌾 SEEDS – DIRECT SOW
Arugula, lima beans, snap beans, beets, carrots, mizuna, radish, snap peas, lettuce*
🌿 TRANSPLANT HERBS
Chives, cilantro, dill, lemon balm, mint, oregano, rosemary, sage, thyme
*A note for our Zone 9 Houston gardeners: hold off on lettuce, onion, and spinach until October or the first real stretch of cooler weather. These cool-season crops sulk (or bolt) in lingering Houston heat, so a little patience now means a much stronger start once temps drop.
