We were called to replace a damaged camera and to check 2 other analog cameras that had intermittent signal issues—especially at night 🌙📹. The cable runs were between 285–325 feet, right at the 300 ft limit for analog systems. We started by improving connectors, power supply, and weatherproofing—basic steps for any existing installation 👷♂️.
The issue continued ⚠️. After a deeper inspection, we found the problem 💡: cables had been cut and manually spliced—something video signals can’t handle. Combined with higher power demand at night, the system kept failing.
We replaced everything with CAT6 and video baluns, allowing stable video and power up to 400 feet 🚀. Problem solved.
