In April 2011, UBC General President Douglas McCarron merged Local 11 and Local 19 into the newly formed Local 279. General President McCarron also disbanded the Empire State Regional Council of Carpenters and merged NY State (minus NYC) and New Jersey into the newly formed Northeast Regional Council of Carpenters.
