From the before photos to the new tile work, this shower has been quite a project. Once we opened the walls, we found extensive rot in the framing caused by water getting behind the shower. What looked like a tile renovation became a structural repair: we had to address the damaged framing, replace the insulation, and rebuild the shower with proper waterproofing with Schluter-Systems North America before we could move forward with tile. Then came the detail work. We installed a bold patterned tile across the shower walls and bench, carefully carrying the design through the corners, along with a hexagon mosaic floor and a properly pitched drain area. Getting all of those patterns and transitions to work together took patience and plenty of careful layout. We’re proud of how this project came together, and grateful to the homeowners for trusting us to do the work behind the finished surface, not just what you see in the photos. We also want to sincerely apologize to our future clients whose schedules have been affected by our delays. Illness and unexpected repairs like the hidden damage on this and other projects have pushed our timeline back, and we understand that changes to your start date can disrupt your plans. We’re truly sorry for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through the backlog.
