The Blind Cat Rescue & Sanctuary sanctuary is coming right along! We’re building about 6,000 square feet of new space for Blind Cat Rescue in St. Pauls, NC. This nonprofit has put so much into caring for these cats, and we’re honored they trusted us to build their new home.
During our first visit, we learned this rescue started with one blind cat named Luke. About 20 years and hundreds of rescued cats later, we get to help them make room for what comes next. That means a lot to our team.
We visited the old sanctuary to understand what the staff deals with every day. Seeing the moisture issues helped us plan drainage and sealing details for the new building.
The cats will have covered, fenced outdoor areas called “catios,” with pet doors connecting them to their rooms inside. This has been a special project to work on, right down to the little doors.
The caregivers told us they wanted catwalks and climbing ledges, so we added support inside the walls before the drywall went up. We’ve enjoyed learning what these cats need and helping bring those ideas to life.
They work hard caring for these cats, and we want this space to make their days a little easier.
