Cascade Sweeps

Cascade Sweeps Serving the Mid-Columbia Region of Oregon and Washington since 1989 Levi is not the "old school chimney guy." He is the next evolution.

About Levi Beckman

Owner, Cascade Sweeps and GorgeTrade Residential Services

Levi Beckman did not begin his career on rooftops... he began it writing code. For over 30 years, Levi worked as a senior software engineer, designer, teacher, pastor, businessman, and mentor. But underneath every chapter of his life was the same calling... building things that matter and serving people with integrity.

When the opportunity arose to step into the trades and carry forward two of the Gorge's most trusted chimney and stove service legacies, Levi knew it was not just a business move... it was a stewardship. His heart for the Columbia River Gorge, his desire to preserve local craftsmanship, and his conviction that trades can build strong families and strong communities all converged into one mission... restore these essential services, elevate the customer experience, and train up the next generation of skilled workers. He brings:

* 30 years of engineering level precision to scheduling, safety systems, and inspections
* A pastor's heart for serving people honestly and compassionately
* An entrepreneur's drive to systematize, innovate, and build a sellable, scalable company
* A mentor's passion for developing apprentices into confident tradesmen
* A local's love for the Gorge and the people who call it home

He is also a husband, father, stepfather, homesteader, fisherman, and a man who believes deeply in second chances and small beginnings... because "small beginnings" is exactly how every good story starts. After acquiring Cascade Sweeps and partnering with Frederick Mike Sandoz, one of the most respected stove and chimney craftsmen in the region, Levi has committed the next several years to building a company worthy of the trust these long standing customers have placed in it. For Levi, this is not just sweeping chimneys or installing stoves...
This is protecting homes...
This is preserving legacy...
This is building something that will outlast him. If you ask him why he does all this, he will smile and say...
"Because the Gorge deserves service that is honest, excellent, and human."

Not every chimney needs to be replaced.

This masonry chimney had begun showing the effects of decades of weather exposure. Mortar joints were deteriorating, the crown had failed, and water intrusion had started the slow process of damaging the structure from the top down.

Rather than waiting for more extensive deterioration, we carefully dismantled the damaged upper section, reclaimed and cleaned reusable brick, rebuilt the chimney structure, formed and poured a new crown, and restored the system to help protect it for decades to come.

Many homeowners are surprised to learn that most chimney failures begin with water. Small cracks become larger cracks. Mortar joints open up. Freeze-thaw cycles accelerate the damage. What starts as a maintenance issue can eventually become a major structural repair.

Regular inspections and timely maintenance are often the difference between a repair and a complete rebuild.

If your chimney is showing signs of cracking, loose mortar, missing crown material, vegetation growth, or water intrusion, it may be worth having it evaluated before the damage progresses further.

Proud to help preserve another Columbia Gorge home.

At the 2026 Oregon Chimney Sweep Association Convention, Jory stepped into the brick masonry demonstration and got to work. He was learning directly from seasoned professionals who have spent decades mastering the craft.

No shortcuts.
No guesswork.
Just hands on skill, correction, and repetition.

And he did not just show up. He earned his certification (with a 99%!).

That matters because chimney work is not just sweeping. It is understanding the entire system. Structure, draft, combustion, and long term durability all matter. When masonry is done right, it protects homes for decades. When it is done wrong, it fails quietly until it does not.

At GorgeTrade, this is the standard.
Train hard. Learn from the best. Do the job right the first time.

Because our customers are not just paying for a service. They are trusting us with the safety of their homes.

Proud of you, Jory. Strong work. đź’Ş

This makes me so happy...

"If I could give Cascade Sweeps more than five stars, I would. After experiencing a chimney fire, we were understandably shaken, and Levi and his entire team were nothing short of incredible. From the very first interaction, they were calm, compassionate, and deeply knowledgeable.

They took the time to explain what happened, what needed to be done, and most importantly, how to make sure our home would be safe moving forward. The level of professionalism was honestly otherworldly. They showed up when they said they would, worked efficiently and thoroughly, and treated our home with real care and respect.

They did not cut corners, did not rush, and did not leave until the job was completely finished. When they were done, the space was spotless. You would not even know work had been done, aside from the peace of mind.

It is rare to find a company that so clearly prioritizes safety, quality, and genuine care for their customers. Levi and his team do exactly that.

I cannot recommend Cascade Sweeps enough. If you want expert work done by people who truly care, this is the company to call."

Spring is here… and this is what winter does to chimneys in the Gorge.

We found this chimney during a January install—and it had everything:
cracked crown, failing mortar, broken flashing, and water getting in from every direction.

This is how chimneys quietly fail.

So we rebuilt it the right way:

• Removed failing mortar
• Installed new step flashing
• Built a proper crown with overhang + drip edge
• Full tuck-point
• Sealed the entire chimney

Now it’s protected and built to last.

This kind of work can:
âś” Extend the life of your chimney by decades
âś” Save you tens of thousands in replacement costs
