What a great project to be involved with! Moses Schneider and Randy Gollinger Jr. crushed it!

City leaders and staff gathered 11 miles south of Hood River on Aug. 27 for a ribbon-cutting seven years in the making, unveiling the Dee Hydro in-line renewable energy project.

The installation, which appears above ground as a large, colorful pipe and turbine, taps an existing pressurized municipal pipeline and makes the water multifunctional, capturing energy that would otherwise be wasted in the system while continuing distribution of high-quality drinking water. The future-forward project is set to generate roughly 16 million kilowatt-hours of electricity over its first 30 years.

It’s Meet the Team Monday! Christopher Vigil joins Team Ajax NW with 4 years of construction experience. He has not found a specialty yet, but considers himself a jack of all trades. His favorite part of the job is the banter (and the money). If Christopher could have a super power, he would be able to control probability. In his free time, he enjoys riding motorcycle, playing video games, and ai***ft. When asked which one word his friends and family would use to describe him, he stated “weird.” Haha! Welcome to the team, Christopher!

One of our favorite parts of summer is seeing the hard work and dedication put in by the local 4-H and FFA kids at the county fairs. They all did such an amazing job! Mark your calendars for next year and fill your freezer with the best meat around!
