My name is Ryan Cafferky. I own A Life With Trees which is a small tree service in Hood River. We have been receiving phone calls from people throughout the state who say that they are being charged by our company but we aren't charging them. Someone has set up a payment system in our company name and is charging people who aren't having any services done. They are somehow acquiring their credit card info and then charging them. So far we know about 3 victims but I'm sure that number is going to rise as people look at their credit card statements this month.
The only way our company has to charge people’s credit cards is through our CRM software. We cannot charge people any other way. If you see a charge on your credit card statement and you are not our customer having just had work done, contact the credit card company and let them know you have been scammed and also contact your local law enforcement and let them know what is happening.
We have contacted our local sheriff’s department and were told that because the victims are not in our county that they can’t do anything at this time. We aren’t a victim other than having our company name used to perpetuate the scam.
