A beautiful backyard is one thing. A backyard that brings everything together is another. Swipe to see the before, the design, and the transformation.

This backyard had all the right elements: a covered porch, pergola, and flagstone patio. What it lacked was a thoughtful design to connect them.

We added a new flagstone patio, natural stone steps, and lush, layered plantings to transform disconnected areas into one cohesive outdoor living space.

The homeowners we are designing for in Pittsford are not asking for a patio. They are asking for a space that fits how they actually live, from morning coffee to hosting a full evening, and one they can get to without worrying about it.

That is the goal on this project.

Seamless access from the home. The raised patio comes up level with the sliding door, so the outdoor space begins where the kitchen ends. No steps, no barrier, no separate trip. When access is effortless, usage goes way up.

Multi functional by design. Seat walls turn the upper patio into a dining and grilling zone with built in seating that is always there. The lower patio gives them a second gathering area, so one space handles quiet mornings and full evenings without rearranging anything.

Comfort and privacy. A corner fence section and layered plantings soften the hardscape and make the space feel enclosed, which is what turns a patio into somewhere you linger.

Usable after dark. Landscape lighting extends the space into the evening instead of ending the night at sunset.
