Will Construction Corp offers two Insurance Inspections. Ken Will, Licensed Building Contractor and Home Inspector, performs all inspection personally.

Wind Mitigation Inspection. $95.00
I look at construction features in your home that make it stronger in a wind storm. Many home owners SAVE HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS per year with this report. Items such as roof installed after 3-1-2002, hurricane clips with at least 3 nails per truss, 2 ½” nails in sheathing, or a hip shaped roof can vastly improve your home’s chances of surviving a severe wind event. Florida State Law requires the insurer to reduce your premium for each qualifying feature found during the inspection.

4 Point Insurance Inspection. $140.00
Most Insurance Companies require an inspection on “older” homes (10-30 years) at renewal or to obtain a new policy. The Inspection is a limited, visual survey of the heating/air conditioning, roof, electrical, and plumbing systems. It is less in scope than a home inspection but gives the insurer a basic look at the 4 points.

We’ve all seen it, many of us in our own homes, especially in our garage. It’s a common problem - Older steel doors rust, wood doors warp, split or twist, bottoms of door jambs rot from water damage. Sometimes age is the culprit but it’s especially common when there is not enough overhang to protect it from the rain. Rain water splashes onto the bottom of the door and frame causing extensive damage over time.

The good news is, doors and frames have come a long way. Fiberglass doors, which were at one time more expensive than wood or steel, are now competitively priced. They don’t rust like steel doors, and are much more resistive to warping, splitting, and twisting than wood doors. Keep in mind that all fiberglass doors are NOT created equal. At Will Construction we only use fiberglass doors with NO exposed wood, composite jambs and non-wood trim for the ultimate in longevity.

Something to remember when changing out an exterior door, they are considered part of the ‘envelope of the building’ and proper installation and fastening is critical and a building permit is a MUST!!
