Established trees have root systems that are significantly larger than their canopy. The drip line is the natural runoff region of rain from its leaves. This is the best area for watering. You also want to avoid high pressure sprinklers from continuously striking the trunk and branches of the tree. This has the potential to cause damage.

Excellent trees for privacy and helps block noise pollution. My personal favorite is the Emerald Green Arborvitae. However, deer do like this one. Especially in winter. So, in high deer traffic areas it’s best to protect them with some fencing.
